Concierge Medicine

The amount of time a caring physician can spend with a patient
is the most important determinant of quality care.

Most Concierge physicians limit their practice to approximately
300 patients, as opposed to 2000 in traditional practices and
3000 or more in the patient base of primary care physicians
associated with managed care HMO's and PPO's.

In a smaller, more intimate setting, a physician has
time  to give
individualized care focused on early detection and treatment of
diseases, as well as prevention and wellness.

Of course, with such a small patient base, concierge physicians
must charge an annual retainer fee for their services.
Such fees range from $1,000 to $10,000 for concierge doctors, in
this new approach to medical care. Dr. Brownlee's fee is a
modest $1,500 per year.
